Many countries have adopted the nursing process as a basic requirement for quality health care services, but there is a problem with its implementation in the clinical areas of many healthcare facilities. Even though the generality of nurses agrees with the benefits of the nursing process, they do not always use it practically. The implementation of the nursing process in Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Apir is not well organized and advanced as it ought to be. An institutional-based, descriptive cross-sectional study design was conducted at FMC Apir. A simple random sampling technique was applied to select study subjects. The data were collected using self-administered questionnaires. Binary logistic regressions were used. Then, P-value < 0.05 was considered statistically significant in this study. This study reviled that 62.8% of nurses implemented the nursing process. Work experience greater than or equal to five years [AOR: 1.81; 95% CI (1.29\u20134.81)], support from the administration of the organization to do the nursing process [AOR: 1.96; 95% CI (1.20\u20133.03)], and knowledgeable nurses [AOR: 2.21; 95% CI (1.30\u20134.98)] are significantly associated with the implementation of the nursing process. Exactly sixty-two nurses at FMC Apir implemented the nursing process. Work experience, organizational support to implement the nursing process, and knowledge were significant factors affecting the implementation of the nursing process.<\/span><\/p>

THE IMPACT STATEMENT FOR NURSING PROCESS ARE AS FOLLOWS; <\/b><\/p>\n

     The analysis will impact on the body of knowledge and provokes more research work.<\/span><\/p>\n

– The work will impact on and improve the quality of patients care.<\/span><\/p>\n

    When there is improved nursing process practice, it would impact on and improve the image of nursing profession and professionalism which would improve on their collective bargaining for better remuneration among other health professionals improved nursing process practice work will attract better health policy of health ministries and institution to improve on nurse \/patient ratio by employing more nurse’s.<\/span><\/p>\n

     The Federal ministry of health and nursing and midwifery councils may use the outcome or recommendations from the work by using the nursing process as a parameters for accreditation of nursing department of the hospitals.<\/span><\/p>\n

      Nursing process would be used by institutions as a panacea for assessing proficiency and efficiency during employment interview, promotion recommendation and examination of nursing staff.<\/span><\/p>\n

        This work when taken seriously will impact positively on the nurse’s in my  clime to join the global trend of using nursing process as a standardized scientific tool and language all over the world .<\/span><\/p>\n

LOUISA NGOZI ANIEKWE hails from Nenwe, Aninri Local Government are of Enugu State . She is married in the same Local Government area. <\/span><\/p>\n

She is  a Deputy Director of Nursing Services   the Coordinator of Nursing Services, and the Head of Nursing Education, training and development  at Federal Medical Centre Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria. <\/span><\/p>\n
