Abstract<\/span><\/p>

Differential educational attainment is a serious issue in the world that requires immediate action to save or rescue the situation. It is caused as a result of societal imbalance, inequalities, and structural factors that perpetuate socioeconomic disparities. In this paper, we will discuss the factors that may influence differential educational attainments, such as family issues, socioeconomic issues, political issues, and culture. We will also discuss the implications for achieving sustainable development goal four.<\/span><\/p>

Differential educational attainment is a serious issue in the world that requires immediate action to save the situation. It is caused as a result of societal imbalance, inequalities, and structural factors that perpetuate socioeconomic disparities. Factors that may influence differential educational attainments are family issues, socioeconomic issues, political issues, and culture, and the implications for achieving sustainable development goal four. Some major recommendations were made such as family members should be able to locate schools or educational institutions that are within their financial means, government should invest in the education of all citizens by effectively implementing 26% of the nation’s revenue budget into the educational sector. government should be able to implement some measures to control human activities, such as raising awareness of the impact of human activities on the environment, transforming the transportation system, afforestation\/regeneration of trees, and maintaining political pressure on the government, to name a few.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

About Author\/s<\/span><\/p>

Professor Afolakemi Olasumbo Oredein<\/span> is a Professor in the Faculty of Arts & Education, Lead City University, Ibadan, Nigeria and currently the Provost of the Postgraduate College. Her area of specialization is Educational Management (Leadership) and Statistics. She is a chartered member of the Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (IPMN), International Council for Education Research and Training (ICERT), and Kappa Delta Pi (KDP Nigeria Chapter). Also, she is a member of the following organizations; Higher Education research & Policy Network (HERPNET), Global Education Network (GEN), World Education Research Association (WERA), Nigerian Association of Educational and Planning and Administration (NAEAP), mention few. Prof. Oredein is the Editor-in-Chief of some journals like; African Higher Education Review (AHER) an online International Journal, and the Journal of Capital Development in Behavioral Sciences (JOCADEBS). She has published widely, attended, and presented papers at local and international academic conferences. She presented her Inaugural Lecture on \u2018Good Leadership for National Development: The Inevitable Fraternal Twins and Irresistible Skills as Matters Arising\u2019 September 2016<\/span>. <\/span>She is from Ogun State, Nigeria; married to Rev\u2019d OpeOluwa Oredein and blessed with children.<\/span><\/p>

Chinenye Christiana Obadimeji<\/span>, a PhD student in Educational Management, Faculty of Education, at Lead City University, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria. She aspires to contribute to positive changes in the world through research. Her research is based on digitalization, innovation, educational leadership, and teachers\u2019 professional development toward improving teachers’ job performance and enhancing teaching-learning processes in the school. She is a member of Global Education Network (GEN). She has published widely, attended, and presented papers at local and international academic conferences.
