Role and Application of Artificial Intelligence in Business

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines. Artificial Intelligence technology has led to creation of AI tools that mimic human intelligence. These machines/AI tools have the capability of performing the tasks that depend upon and are associated with human cognitive skills, like, learning and logical reasoning. AI is impacting all spheres of our lives. It has reshaped the arena of business as well, and is being used by organizations for data analytics, automation, pattern recognition, decision making and content creation. Different areas of business, be it marketing, customer service, production or human resources, can use AI to improve operations and productivity. The present paper provides an overview of the role and application of AI in business organizations.

The paper titled “Role and Application of Artificial Intelligence in Business” gives an insight about how artificial intelligence is going to impact the arena of Business in near future and how this disruptive technology can be applied in different areas of business like, marketing, logistics, and customer service. The paper points out that the business organizations which adopt, integrate and incorporate AI in their business are certainly going to increase efficiency in their operations.


About the Author

Dr Parminder Walia is working as an Associate Professor in SGGS College, Chandigarh and has 27 years of teaching experience. She has been teaching Commercial laws and Income Tax laws to Undergraduate students and Research Methodology to the Post Graduate students. She has published research papers in various national, international journals and edited books and has presented papers in various conferences in India, USA and Bhutan.
