The Role of Digital Literacy to Promote the Gender Equality

Abstract
Digital Technology is crucial part of everyone’s life. This research is based on the digital literacy role to promote the gender equality in every field. According to UNICEF, 2017, Digital literacy is becoming more and more recognized as a necessary skill for employability and has been associated with increased earning potential and new business opportunities. This research found that various obstacles faced by female during the usages of digital technology. There are various measures introduced to overcome this problem. Education policy should place a strong emphasis on digital literacy for both boys and girls. To reach girls at a young age and provide them the opportunity to develop their talents over time, digital skill training should be incorporated into formal school curriculum starting in the basic grades.

Impact Statement
This study is based on the digital literacy role to promote the gender equality in every field. This article deals with gender phenomena in the context of digital literacy. The main objectives of this research are to find out the problems and challenges face by women while using the digital technology, how to overcome this problems with the help of digital literacy.
This research found that various obstacles faced by female during the usages of digital technology. There are various measures introduced to overcome this problem. Education policy should place a strong emphasis on digital literacy for both boys and girls. To reach girls at a young age and provide them the opportunity to develop their talents over time, digital skill training should be incorporated into formal school curriculum starting in the basic grades.

Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Assistant Professor, School of Business Management and Commerce, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, Punjab. Her Academic Qualifications include Bachelor of Commerce, Master in Business Administration and PhD in Finance from Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, Punjab. She has 4 years’ experience as an Assistant Professor in teaching institution. In addition to her scholarly responsibilities, she has held several positions within the Department some of which include Academic Coordinator. She has published numerous articles in both local and international journals.

Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Associate professor ,Head of the Languages Department is an active Alumni of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar has completed PhD in Generic Study of Pritam Singh Safeer in 2012. Being UGC (NET) qualified, I have total 14 years teaching experience and during this tenure, I have published 8 Books from which two books are accepted in Central Institute Of Indian Language, Manasagangotri, Mysore. Furthermore, I have written book chapters and published and presented research papers in various journals and conferences. Apart from that I have performed observer duty from NTA in JEE and NEET Exam .I am also honored with Appreciation Letter for various judgments .
